This Week's Founder Spotlight: Scott Jones, VP of Product at Realeyes and Advisor/Consultant

The vibe you keep, is the vibe you reap!

Scott Jones

Describe your business? As the VP of Product at Realeyes, I'm leading the charge in building a platform that lets businesses seamlessly integrate Vision AI models to measure attention, emotion, and identity. Whether it’s optimizing ad performance on TikTok or enhancing in-store experiences, I’m focused on solving complex problems across industries like media, retail, and ed-tech.

What's your why? My "why" comes from a deep connection to innovation and creativity. I'm often the one businesses turn to when they need to navigate the unknown, going from zero to one. But honestly, I’m just following the flow—guided by curiosity, spirituality, and a love for solving complex problems. Whether it’s product management or music, I’m always inspired by what sparks my intellectual and creative interests.

Why are you passionate about what you do? I’m passionate about what I do because it’s a perfect blend of intellectual excitement and creativity. Everything from understanding user psychology to building businesses is endlessly fascinating to me. My mind naturally gravitates toward seeing things from unique perspectives, which often brings value to the table. This cycle of being invited into conversations and businesses because of that fresh outlook fuels my passion even more. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others see things differently and unlock new possibilities.

What’s a pivotal point that’s defined you? A pivotal moment for me was moving to Los Angeles. I’d been in New York, playing in a band, and we recorded an album in LA. But all the excitement and support were in LA, so we decided to move. The band didn’t survive, but I stayed, got into product management, met my wife, and discovered coffee—which completely transformed my life. LA also sparked my deep dive into spirituality, unleashing a creative energy that continues to fuel everything I do.

What's a challenge you’ve overcome? One of the biggest challenges I’ve overcome was learning to reconnect with my creative flow. Growing up, I was full of energy, diving into music, dance, and theater. But over time, life experiences caused me to shut down, and I became my own worst critic, constantly fearing judgment. Moving to LA was a turning point—it helped me unwind that negativity and rediscover the freedom to create without fear or overthinking. It was about getting out of my own way and letting my intuition guide me, just like when I was a kid.

What do you do for fun? For fun, I walk—a lot. It might sound simple, but walking has always been a great way for me to clear my mind. I’m also deeply into music, studying drums, piano, and singing while working on a one-man band concept. I play in bands too. Spending time with my family is another big joy; I have 10-year-old identical twins, a wonderful wife, and two dogs—I’m a total dog lover. Beyond that, I’m always learning, staying active, and continually growing.

💫 Succeed More

In our FounderSuccess model, Attention-Seeking is one of the traits of a typical successful entrepreneur.

There’s a lot of bias around this concept, so please note: introverts CAN be successful especially when teamed with a “bigger” personality.

Overall a 50-80% range is ideal. That’s not Elon Musk territory, but it’s a respectable Melanie Perkins.

Vroom Vroom!

We’re on a mission to help as many founders and startup teams improve their odds of success, reduce bias, and make better decisions around people.

Check out FounderSuccess and let us know how we can help.

 💁🏽‍♀️ Recruit More

This Reddit conversation echos so many of our own sentiments on how different the hiring landscape is from even just a year ago.

Besides all the other reasons, we feel strongly that “attention” is a big part of it.

Life is and business is all about people; but it’s really hard to notice who's most important through the noise of all the apps, texts, emails, messaging, ATS systems, AI….

But I wanted a Wonka bar daddy!

So how can you help cut through noise on your job search?

We are “MORE” people around here, but in this case we suggest LESS:

  • Words/pages in your resume and cover letter

  • Easy Apply on Linkedin - often a false positive! Get referrals instead

  • Fake job postings/Fake employers 🤥. Unsure? Don’t be embarrassed to ask a recruiter who you trust to double check the validity of a job/offer.

  • Expectation that things will “go back to normal” or that AI fixes all of it

Daily News for Curious Minds

“I stopped watching the news, so sick of the bias. Was searching for an alternative that would just tell me WHAT happened, with NO editorializing. I found it. It’s called 1440. It assumes you are smart enough to form your own opinions.”
