The Art of Implementation: An Interview with Lyla Skovgard

This month, we spotlight Lyla, our newest team member who brings expertise in business implementation and narrative design. She shares valuable insights for startups on creating successful processes and navigating today's tech landscape.

Why Dreamore? "Dreamore is a great platform to help those with big dreams use their skills and passion to create funding for themselves," Lyla explains. "I want to provide that connection so people can do what they want to do. I like being an enabler—it gives me great personal joy to see others succeed."

Expert Implementation. By day, Lyla works in sustainability implementation; by night, she's a narrative designer. "I create clear pathways, pipelines, and mitigate potential risks using technology and years of experience in pipeline flow."

Why Processes Matter. For startups and investors alike, solid processes are critical: "If you can't organize your thoughts clearly and have a pathway, the likelihood of success is very low." Success rates "almost directly correlate with how well you implement a good strategy and process flow." For investors, she notes, "They want to see hard numbers and success rates. Pipeline shows you can commit to a specific flow and that you're capable of making money—because that's all they really care about: ROI."

Avoiding Implementation Pitfalls. The biggest mistake? Rigidity. "If you're stuck on only one way to solve a problem, that's where I see failure," Lyla explains. Success comes from "the willingness to adapt and see mistakes as positives rather than negatives."

Implementation Tips. For startups: Build "break points" into your business flow for regular assessment. For established companies: Bring in fresh perspectives through contract workers who can observe processes with new eyes.

Navigating AI. With AI advancing rapidly, Lyla cautions against constant adaptation: "At this point where AI is like fireworks, constantly exploding, it's not wise to continually adapt to every change. Instead, "Do research, keep fear out, stay the course. Remember that AI is a tool that makes us faster—it doesn't replace things."

Vision for the Future. Lyla hopes to create spaces where disadvantaged communities can explore their passions: "I will always strive to help people find their 'why.' The dream is to create fostering spaces where we can make dreams come true together."
